The National Treasury has disbursed at least Sh40 billion to various State Departments cutting across various ministries.
Treasury said the funds were disbursed on Tuesday, August 20.
The Ministry of Education will get the lion’s share of the Sh40 billion, with Free Primary Education third term getting over Sh1.6 billion.
Free Day Secondary Education has been allocated over Sh14.1 billion for the third term, while Junior Secondary has been allocated Sh6.1 billion.
The Higher Education Loans Board has been allocated Sh5.1 billion for student loans while the Universities Fund Board will receive over Sh2.8 billion.
In further allocation, the State Department for Roads will receive slightly over Sh2 billion, which will be transferred to various state agencies.
The State Department for Irrigation will receive Sh2.6 billion, which will be transferred to the National Irrigation Authority.
Some Sh2 billion will go to the State Department for Crop Development for the National Cereals Produce Board (NCPB) for payment of pending bills for the fertilizer program during the Financial Year 2023/2024.
The fertilizer was used during the short rains and long rains.
In the disbursement, the New Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC) Ltd will receive Sh800 million through the State Department for Cooperatives.
Another Sh500 million will go to the Financial Inclusion Fund (Hustler Fund).
The State Department for Industry will get Sh1 billion for County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPS)
Another Sh600 million will go to the State Department for Investment Promotion, which will go to the Export Processing Zones Authority.
