Man electrocuted in Embakasi as police probe multiple deaths and robberies! A man in Embakasi, Nairobi, was electrocuted on Monday morning while attempting to connect power to his house.

The victim, identified as Francis Njau, was discovered lying lifeless on his veranda long after the incident had occurred. According to Nairobi police commander George Sedah, neighbors heard Njau scream, and when they rushed to check on him, they found his body holding a live wire.

Police arrived at the scene and moved the body to the mortuary for postmortem and further investigations.

Electrocution incidents are common in informal settlements, often linked to illegal power connections, which authorities continue to warn against.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night, March 9, when the girl fell on her head while eating. Family members rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she was pronounced dead on arrival.

In Huruma, a woman identified as Winnie Masai passed away after experiencing severe abdominal pain.

Her husband told police that Masai had complained of stomach pain and decided to self-medicate. However, her condition worsened, forcing him to rush her to a nearby hospital, where she died upon arrival.

In Ruai, a man was found dead near a bar under mysterious circumstances.

The bar owner reported seeing the deceased lying motionless in a trench outside his establishment. Upon checking, he realized that the man was unresponsive, prompting him to alert the police.

Authorities moved the body to the mortuary, pending an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Police have launched investigations into all three deaths to establish the exact circumstances leading to the fatalities.

70-Year-Old Man Robbed of KSh 80,000 After Bank Withdrawal

In Kakamega Town, police are investigating an incident where a 70-year-old man was attacked and robbed of KSh 80,000 shortly after withdrawing money from a bank.

Authorities suspect that the crime was an inside job, as the gang that carried out the robbery seemed to have been tipped off from within the bank.

The victim, who has hearing difficulties, had traveled from his Kabras home to Kakamega town to withdraw the money for family use. After leaving the bank, he set off on his bicycle toward home but was attacked at his gate.

According to police, the attackers, who were in a Subaru vehicle, forcibly bundled the man into their car and drove away, leaving his bicycle behind.

The victim was later found abandoned and traumatized in Wemilabi Luanda, Emuhaya Sub County, having been robbed of his cash and personal belongings.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects, noting that such bank-to-home robberies have been on the rise in the region.

In Kiamaciri, Kirinyaga County, police are investigating a church robbery where thieves made away with assorted electronic goods.

The robbery took place at Return to Lord Ministry Church on the night of March 8, where the criminals broke into the building and stole speakers and other valuable items.

Police said the suspects gained entry by breaking the steel door and lock before escaping. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

Robbers Attack Guards, Steal Construction Materials in Nyeri

Elsewhere, in Mukurweini, Nyeri County, a gang attacked a construction site in Wamutitu area and overpowered guards on duty, making away with valuable building materials.

According to police and witnesses, the robbers stole:

  • 610 pieces of building metal rods (size D10)
  • 16 pieces of binding wire
  • Mobile phones from the guards

The gang loaded the stolen items into a waiting lorry and drove off to an unknown destination.

Authorities have launched investigations into the incident, with efforts to track down the stolen goods and bring the criminals to justice.
