Deputy President David Mabuza leading fight against COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy

The government says it is taking the necessary steps to combat vaccine hesitancy as only eight percent of residents in Gauteng’s West Rand District have been vaccinated, so far.

It is one of the province’s worst-performing areas when it comes to getting the jab.

Deputy President David Mabuza stepped in to oversee operations in Kagiso Mall and Kagiso taxi rank on Thursday.

He says he will be visiting other provinces to ensure that almost 40 million people are vaccinated by the end of December.

Mabuza also assured South Africans that health authorities are monitoring the new C1.2 variant
