In light of recent incidences that shook the nation, celebrities used their voices and platforms to raise awareness. One of Mzansi’s sought-after rapper ProVerb used his artistry to show his support for “No Violence Against Women and Children.

The well-respected rapper collaborated with the Idols Top17 and together their opening performance made a bold statement to South Africans to stop the abuse of women and children.

Their rendition to Aretha Franklin’s ‘R.E.S.P.E.C.T’ speaks to everybody to respect the next person’s basic rights and human dignity. Labelled as the Godfather of South African Hip-Hop, his performance proved it for many people (not that he needed to) and had a positive response from fans and Idols supporters alike. Respect to you Proverb for using your platform to condemn this epidemic!
