The Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Friday arrested two men and a woman for allegedly producing counterfeit alcohol in Nakuru.
In a statement on X, DCI said the three were arrested in a godown.
According to DCI, officers seized 60 sacks of assorted bottle caps for different alcoholic brands, a plastic moulding machine, two and a half drums of ethanol, and various labels and stickers for the fake brands.
The recovered items were transported to the KRA warehouse in Nakuru, DCI said.
The arrest was made by a joint task force comprising of officers from DCI headquarters, the Kenya Revenue Authority, and the Regional County Investigations office.

The suspects are currently in custody, pending arraignment. “We reaffirm our dedication to collaborating with other stakeholders to combat the infiltration of counterfeit products in the market,” DCI said.
