President William Ruto has extended his congratulations to Kenyan athletes Faith Kipyegon and Beatrice Chebet for their remarkable recognition and accolades at the prestigious Academy of Achievement awards.
The two athletes were honored during the Golden Plate Award ceremony held at the Lincoln Centre Plaza in New York.
The two were donned in beautiful dresses as they received awards in the beautiful event.
“Congratulations, Faith Kipyegon and Beatrice Chebet, for being recognised and awarded by the Academy of Achievement,” Ruto said.
“The extraordinary honour is a solid tribute to your hard work, talent, and dedication to athletics. No doubt, it will inspire upcoming athletes and help shape our country’s sports.”
Faith Kipyegon, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and world champion in the 1500m, continues to shine as a beacon of excellence in middle-distance running.
Her unparalleled achievements, including setting world records, have cemented her legacy as one of the greatest athletes in Kenyan history.
Beatrice Chebet, an emerging talent in long-distance running, has similarly gained international recognition, becoming a force to reckon with on the global athletics stage.
