UDA: Ruto’s cabinet nominees are product of broad consultation

Cleophas Malala

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has said the broad-based cabinet announced by President William Ruto on Wednesday is a product of broad consultations.

In a statement on Thursday, the party said consultations involved diverse stakeholders, including both private and public sectors.

“This inclusive approach ensures that the Cabinet represents the entire political spectrum and truly reflects the face of Kenya,” the statement said.

The party added that the new Cabinet is essential for driving the country’s development agenda forward and ensuring stability.

“It will play a crucial role in providing effective and efficient public services, expanding opportunities for employment and wealth creation, and fostering an environment where every Kenyan can thrive,” UDA said.

UDA noted that the country’s transformation agenda aims to achieve universal health coverage, ensuring that no one is left behind or impoverished due to healthcare costs.

The government, it said, is committed to providing an equitably funded education system that supports learners from vulnerable backgrounds and promoting safe and dignified housing through the affordable housing program.

Furthermore, the transformation agenda includes providing reliable clean water, last-mile electricity connectivity, and securing more business opportunities for enterprises and employment for the youth, both domestically and abroad.

UDA stated that the ultimate goal is to transform the nation into a middle-income society, adding that this requires the urgent mobilisation of adequate resources to fund these vital programs and projects.

The party also encouraged Kenyans to take part in public participation in regard to the Cabinet nomination.

UDA said while taking part in the process, Kenyans should recognise the Cabinet’s essential role in driving the transformational agenda.

“Public participation is encouraged, and Kenyans are asked to share their feedback, recognizing the Cabinet’s essential role in driving the transformational agenda that makes Kenya a better, more just, and more prosperous nation for all,” UDA said.
