Public health principal secretary Mary Muthoni is mourning the death of her nephew, Dennis Mwangi, a former Kenya Forest Service officer.
Muthoni who took to her X page to express grief said Mwangi lost his life in a road accident at the Londiani area in Kericho.
His life, she explained, was cut short when a bus en route to Rwanda collided with the bike he was riding in.
The deceased was based at the Londiani KFS offices.
While speaking of her deep connection with him, Muthoni said, “Mwangi was not just a nephew to me but a son, a friend. He was more than family, a gentle soul who endured patience, resilience, and unwavering hope.”
She continued, “Words are failing me right now. I will miss his endless calls to me and his unwavering positivity. My heart is heavy, but I find comfort knowing that he is now at peace and watching over us.”
Recent statistics from NTSA show that motorcyclist deaths have hit 140 which is a decrease when compared to 151 recorded in 2023.
Pillion passengers recorded 54 deaths compared to 68 witnessed last year.
Pedestrians lead in fatalities with 216 do far, compared with 163 recorded last year.
Following closely are passengers who recorded 109 deaths which is 11 more compared to the 98 recorded in 2023.
