A house helper has been charged with stealing Sh1.3 million and other assorted items worth $15, 200 from her boss.
She was charged with theft contrary to section 281 of the penal code.
Monica Muthoni, however, denied the charges before Kibera senior principal magistrate Esther Boke.
The court heard that she allegedly stole from her employer between February 25 and June 22 at an apartment in Nairobi county.
The accused person is said to have been arrested after the complainant formally made a report to the police and investigations were launched.
The accused told court that she had some personal differences with the complainant.
She also urged the court to grant her a lenient bond terms saying she was not in a position to pay a large bond.
She was released on a cash bail of Sh500,000 with a surety of the same amount.
The case will be mentioned later this month for further directions.
