KwaZulu-Natal: At 22H00 Thursday night, Netcare 911 responded to a falls at a residence in St Lucia on the KZN North Coast.

Reports from the START Rescue team who had responded to the scene earlier indicated that a 78-year-old elderly male had slipped and fell down a steep flight of stairs.

When medics arrived on scene they found the patient in a serious condition, with head and suspected spinal injuries.

The patient was treated on scene by emergency care practitioners and once stabilised was flown by Netcare 911 helicopter to a specialist medical facility.

Western Cape: At 14H42 Tuesday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to an electrocution at a warehouse in Brackenfell, Cape Town.

Reports indicate that while working on a cherry picker, an adult male had been electrocuted when the platform was raised touching overhead power cables. Learn more
