South African netball is in mourning following an accident involving players travelling to Cape Town for the National Championships.
The two teams are from the OR Tambo district in the Eastern Cape. Sadly four fatalities have been reported. A full investigation is underway.
“One of our districts was involved in a terrible accident whereby we have fatalities, but we are not at the stage that we can talk about anything,” said Netball SA president Cecilia Molokwane.
“Because we need to have all the information that we would have to be sure of our facts, of what really transpired and what happened, and what exactly is the news on the ground.”
