Eskom has extended Stage 2 power cuts to every night until Thursday. According to the power utility, this is in order to replenish emergency generation reserves.
While there is currently no load shedding anticipated, Eskom would like to request the public to reduce the usage of electricity.
While Eskom expects a number of generating units to return to service from breakdowns during the course of the next few days, we urge the public to reduce the usage and to continue using electricity sparingly to assist in avoiding load shedding,” the statement said.
In order to continue replenishing the emergency generation reserves, and address additional risks, Stage 2 loadshedding will be extended from 21:00 tonight until 05:00 on Thursday@eNCA @News24 @SABCNews @Newzroom405 @ewnupdates @TimesLIVE @ewnupdates pic.twitter.com/esGNLmNnS8
