Thando Thabethe wins an award at the South African Film and Television Awards 2023, which took place on Saturday, 30th of September.
She won the Best Actress in a TV Comedy, for her role in How to Ruin A Christmas season 3. Taking to social media, she shared photos of herself holding the award and penned a note of gratitude. She also talked about how she turned her pain into comedy, which bagged her a win.
“To say I’m elated would be putting it lightly!!! This season of how to ruin was particularly special!!! I was sooo overwhelmed last night that I didn’t get to share a very special story,” she kicked off her note.
Thando further revealed lessons learnt.
“This show taught me how to laugh through some of the greatest pain!!! The birthing scene for one, was one of the most challenging…we shot it on the 28th of June, my late brothers birthday!!! I was very much in my feels… but you @ferry_jele held my hand through that day.. and on this day I learnt what it means to take your pain and turn it into art… comedy even.
