The 21-year-old was a key player at West Brom last season, but Palace have greater aspirations than losing a relegation fight, especially after a significant rebuild this summer under new head coach Patrick Vieira.
Conor Gallagher and his luscious locks will spend the next season at Crystal Palace. It’s the young midfielder’s third straight season out on loan, at his fourth different team, and at the highest level yet.
That rebuild includes Marc Guéhi, and now Gallagher as well — though fortunately his move is just for the season.
Gallagher’s long-term contract at Chelsea (through 2025) gives us a bit of time to make sure he does get a proper chance at making the first-team, and hopefully he does get that chance next summer. Until then, we wish him all the best of luck at Palace — hopefully he impresses just as much as Ruben Loftus-Cheek did there a few years ago.
