A former police woman accused of killing an advocate in Makueni will remain in custody at the Machakos Police Station until the 15th of December when the High Court in Machakos will deliver a ruling on her bail application.

Nancy Njeri, who has been in police custody since October 8, appeared before Justice David Kenei on Tuesday in her ongoing case where she denied murdering the advocate, Onesmus Masaku.

A team of lawyers among them LSK President Nelson Havi is taking part in the case against the former policewoman.

Njeri had initially been charged with attempted murder with the charge changed to murder, after the lawyer succumbed on October 18, 2020 to injuries sustained when he was allegedly attacked by the suspect on October 7, this year.

Masaku passed on at the Kenyatta National Hospital where he was being treated after his hands were allegedly slashed by the suspect in his house.

A police report on the incident indicated that the lawyer had allegedly invited Nancy Njeri to his house on the premise that he wanted to introduce his girlfriend.

It was alleged that the lawyer tried to rape the officer and that is why she chopped off his hands using a panga as she was trying to defend herself.

She also sustained injuries and was taken to Makueni Referral Hospital where she was treated and discharged.
