Two people died on the spot after their vehicles collided along Kajiado-Namanga road on Saturday.

The accident occurred when a Toyota Probox collided with a truck driven by a Burundian national at about 6:30pm.

“The driver of the Probox tried to avoid hitting an on-coming trailer ferrying timber headed to Kajiado town . The Probox hit the front right side of the truck which made it swerve off the road,” Central Sub-County police commander Daudi Lornyokwe said.

Lornyokwe said one person out of the four passengers in the Probox died on the spot.

Police gave the name of the Burundian who died in the accident as Isidore Birigirimana (34) and Edwin Audi, identified as an employee of Kenya Television Network (KTN) in Nairobi.

Police said the injured were taken to Namanga county government hospital for treatment.

KTN staff is mourning the sudden death of their colleague in a tragic road accident on Saturday, September 26th.
The accident, which claimed the life of KTN News director Edwin Audi, occurred along Kajiado-Namanga road and involved three vehicles, two lorries and a Toyota Probox.
