Esther Akoth aka Akothee is one of Kenya’s biggest musicians who many seem to question how she’s made it thus far. She’s also been listed as one of the richest celebrities in the country.

It is no surprise that in as much as the controversial outspoken socialite sometimes falls short of people’s expectations, she has a big heart and gives to most people who need help.

As a successful businesswoman, Akothee is the owner of Akothee Safaris which is a tours and travels company, and a boutique hotel called, Morning Star Diani. Akothee also deals in real estate and property, buying and selling luxurious homes along the Kenyan coast.

With her success in her music and business, Akothee even runs her own foundation called the Akothee Foundation that she started in 2019.



Charles Njagua Kanyi, who is better known by his stage name Jaguar, is a Kenyan member of parliament, singer, entrepreneur and philanthropist.

In 2004, he recorded and released his first Single “Utaweza Kweli”. He has since recorded several hit Singles including Kipepeo, Kilo and One centimetre and he also worked with Mafikizolo on his single titled “Going Nowhere”.

Jaguar has over the years established his enterprises that have now become very lucrative businesses. Besides his music business, Jaguar owns a fleet of personal luxury cars and is known to have investments in Real Estate as well.

He has a net worth that is pegged at $3.2 million.



Felix Odiwuor is famously known as Mzee Jalang’o, but many usually call him Jalang’o. He is a well-known comedian in Kenya and works as an emcee at big events through his eloquent delivery of jokes.

The first job Jalang’o ever had in his life was being a fisherman at the Home Bay Company. He continued with the job as he was good at what he was doing and he later joined Capital Fish Company Limited where he worked as a fishmonger.

Jalang’o gained inspiration through theatrical performances and he dared himself to go over the limits. He produced his first film, Kibrit Olwar Epii. Years after doing theatre and production, Jalang’o moved to Radio Maisha. By the time he joined the station, it was ranked the 48th station in the country.

Today, Jalang’o is the proud ambassador of a company by the name Velvex, that is the distributor of different home amenities, such as tissue paper, serviettes and cling wrap.

The reggae and dancehall singer is one one of the super-rich musicians in the country right now. When he started his career, he was a member of the groups, Necessary and East African Bashment Crew before he went onto his solo career.

He is well known for his stage presence which he has managed to maintain since the early 90s and he’s one of the African entertaining performers.

He worked as a producer at Tedd Josiah’s Blu Zebra Studios and has established his own record label Love Child Records. He released his first solo album “Definition of a Love child” in 2006 and in 2009, he released “Yen Years Wiser”.

Having a successful career in music which spans over years, Wyre also has a business side to him that has helped him amass so much wealth along the way.

Victoria Kimani is a Kenyan RnB and Afropop singer, songwriter and actress.

In 2010, Victoria came to the attention of a Nigerian record label, Chocolate City. This was after a performance of her covering one of the label’s superstars Ice Prince songs, Oleku, went viral. Victoria was the first female artist to be signed to Chocolate City, and she releases her first single Mtoto through the label in 2013.

Victoria is quite passionate about issues on women empowerment and along with other female African artists, they collaborated on a song, ‘Strong Girl’. The song was meant to spread a message of women empowerment right across the world. The song featured the likes of Selmor Mtukudzi from Zimbabwe, Judith Sephuma from South Africa, Yemi Alade from Nigeria and many more.

Victoria is undoubtedly one of Kenya’s biggest stars. Her success isn’t just attributed to her music career – she’s also a TV personality and an actress, making her debut in the movie 7 Inch Curve.
