Charles Hinga is ready to be hanged at Uhuru Park if a scandal is reported in Kazi Mtaani program

The PS State Department for Housing and Urban Development Charles Hinga Mwaura has ruled out the possibility of funds being stolen in the ongoing National Hygiene Programme, dubbed Kazi Mtaani.

The PS was responding to a member of the public who had alleged that another scandal is looming in the Kazi Mtaani project.

“On this one, it won’t happen. If you find any, I am ready to be hanged at Uhuru Park in broad daylight,” PS Hinga said.

kazi-mtaaniA man by the name of Joshua Njenga was commenting on the reported unexplained millions of Covid-19 donations.

“If you are shocked by coronavirus billionaires, wait until you hear the story Kazi Mtaani billionaires. They are the same people but they have different names for their billions,” Njenga claimed.

In a quick response, the PS defended the project saying that the state has already developed mechanisms to prevent any loopholes that may lead to extortion.

PS Hinga“We have put some serious safeguard measures to avoid any shenanigans. The EACC are already invited to investigate allegations of chiefs extorting cash from the youth.”

The PS had earlier denied accusations of financial irregularities, nepotism, and nonpayment of wages in Kazi Mtaani.

Kazi Mtaani programKazi Mtaani was launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta on April 25 and piloted in slums from eight counties targeting unemployed youths.

The National Treasury allocated Sh10 billion to the program which is now running in all the 47 counties.
