Central Kenya to mount more roadblocks

The government has announced new measures to heighten its earlier directives on movement bans within Nairobi Cosmopolitan and coastal counties.

He said that all security officers from the Central Region will be required to effect the new directive.

He cautioned Kenyans against dodging the police roadblocks saying that the law enforcers will deal with such in a ruthless way.

He said that major roadblocks will be mounted at Nyandarua, Murangโ€™a town, Nyeri and Mpesa Academy on your way to Gatundu.

Kibicho insisted that only vehicles carrying farm produce will be allowed to pass the police roadblocks warning Kenyans against flouting the instituted laws.

He made the remarks even as by-foot walking travellers continued to cross erected border freely.

Most of the travellers have been tricking police by being dropped by vehicles few metres away from the bridge and then they cross over to the other side, where other waiting vehicles ferry them to their destinations.

Kibicho said that the government will use every means to block the movement of persons in and out of the restricted areas.

He urged Kenyans to take with seriousness, directives issued by the government to keep away the virus which he reiterated has threatened the countryโ€™s economy.
